Lingaa is a Tamil action thriller film directed by K.S.
Ravikumar, who also scripted the film in collaboration with the film's dialogue
writer, Pon Kumaran. The film stars Rajinikanth playing dual role, Jagapati
Babu, Anushka Shetty and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles. Music was composed
by A. R. Rahman while cinematography was headed by R. Rathnavelu. This is
slated to get released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi language.
Principal photography commenced during the last week of May
2014 in Mysore; immediately after the release of Kochadaiiyaan. Majority of the
filming took place in Ramoji Film City. The climax portions were filmed in
Shimoga.
The film was released on 12 December 2014, coinciding with
Rajinikanth's birthday, and received mixed to negative reviews and below
average in box office from the audience
